2-XL was designed by Dr. Michael J. Freeman, Ph.D and produced by Mego Toys. 2-XL is short for “to excel”. This interactive 8 track player was designed to entertain, teach, and play games. It was quite popular from 1978 to the early 1980s. This is an example of one of the many 2-XL robots.
